Okondewa (“Ndewa’s”) Story:
Ndewa, a girl, was born September 2021 and rescued at 2 years old from the Rufunsa area on the Zambezi, opposite Zimbabwe in Southeast Zambia.
She was found in emaciated condition after being separated from her herd and had clearly been without her mother’s milk for a long time.
She is alert, curious and doing well.
Her name means “beloved” in the local language Chinyanja.
