‘Ectoedemia heckfordi’ – Nationally Scarce

A beautiful brown hare of two moons who stands as a golden beacon of hope to the three wee moths that gather to her magic. These tiny moths are ‘Ectoedemia heckfordi’ a leaf-mining moth. Red listed and Nationally Rare. They were discovered new to science in 2004 by Bob Heckford, on Dartmoor (Devon). The moths are currently known from just five places on the southern edge of the National Park, otherwise its world distribution is limited, (as far as is known)… The unusual furry little moths in the painting are unseen at first glance (deliberately so).

Please note - This original will be shipped from the UK by Cherry, purchaser to pay the postage/packing direct to the artist (at cost), please see HERE for details.
