Dream of Bear - Eurasian brown bear (Ursus arctos arctos) & wings

Did you know that brown bears used to be a native species in Devon, mainly around the south Devon cave sites. They died out many years ago … but I was delighted to hear that Wildwood Escot (near Ottery) have some brown European bears back on Devon soil. The park (and our nominated charity for this show) is first and foremost a conservation charity and so their aim is to create an environment that is as close as possible to what creatures would’ve experience if they were living in the wild. The bears at the park would never have survived without human intervention and are now living out their best lives with the care and protection of the dedicated Wildwood team… Isn’t that a wonderful thought. His ephemeral wings, shimmering under a full bellied moon, is nod to the worrying sharp decline of butterflies, moths and winged insects in general.
