Alice van Jaarsveld - Wild Dog Pups at the Waterhole

Watercolour and Pencil

54cms x 36cms

Alice van Jaarsveld was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe and has always loved drawing and painting; taking formal life drawing classes from a young age.  She was finally able to pursue art full time when she moved to Johannesburg.  She has been accepted for the David Shepherd Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition for 3 years.  Ali’s close association with people deeply committed to the preservation and protection of endangered species has brought her close to wildlife, and it is that strong connection that gives her the empathy and emotional attachment to depict her feelings through her work. Working with Endangered Wildlife Trust and a Bearded Vulture project allows her unique insights to the plight of animals under pressure for their survival.
