Anne Thomsen

Anne Thomsen is a conservation and animal portrait artist who currently lives in Germany. She has been painting in watercolour and oil from an early age and enjoys the nuances of the individual mediums. Whether in her studio or on the road, Anne is always equipped with her pencils, paints and paper at the ready. Inspiration surrounds us, we only need to look.

Anne studied art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, as well as studied Anthropology and Archaeology in the Master’s program at UW Milwaukee to fine tune her archaeological and scientific illustration. Anne has been commissioned to do animal portraits since she was 18 years old, and has had an internationally traveled art exhibition to help raise money to protect the Lipizzaner.

Anne’s passion for conservation and sustainability is at the heart of her art business, Studio Ngong. She believes in using her talents to help conservation, and make a difference for all species on our planet. Anne is currently working on new products featuring her art that will bring awareness to conservation and sustainability.

Anne deeply believes: “We are the cause of the endangerment of species on our planet, but through some simple actions we can easily be the cause of their success. Implement your talents, your ideas, to help conservation and sustainability. Whether in your back yard, your home town or over a larger territory, every little effort makes a difference. Be kind to each other and our planet, and the rest will follow.”
